Maximizing The LinkedIn Experience

I’ve been on LinkedIn for about 2 years. Being new to Atlanta, I wanted to reach out to other professionals in the area. Unfortunately, the most I accomplished was occasionally updating my basic information. After 2 years I have only 30 connections and my profile is still not 100% completed. What I found was that for me; the other social networking sites were just easier to use. So my LinkedIn account remained unused and usually not updated. Now I am working to change that, trying to learn as much as I can about social networking and how I can use it to enhance my prospecting. Today I had the pleasure of attending a seminar about LinkedIn and Maximizing Your Network. Hosted by Global Marcoms and presented by President and CEO Kelly Quattlebaum; the seminar addressed the issue of how to use LinkedIn to prospect, network and develop relationships. The two hour seminar flowed smoothly, and I learned how to:

  • Enhance my personal profile
  • Create a business profile
  • Become an open networker
  • Search for individuals within a specific company
  • Introduce myself to professionals I want to network with

I’m looking forward to using these new tools in my networking and business development. I can already see the value in expanding my network and being able to engage other professionals internationally.
